HLL Vietnam targets November for Khe Sanh, ANZAC and a new bunker. Party Chat is still in development, and an exact release day remains unannounced.

Expression Games and Team17 just posted Community Feedback #9 (November 6), and the message is clear: Update 2.0 is the next big beat for Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, still penciled for November with no exact day announced. If you only saw Steam charts for the WWII game, this is the separate Vietnam title — 50v50 jungle fights, not Lake Balaton.

Patch 1.7 on October 21 was billed as the last small patch before this drop. Since then the team ran Developer AMA #2 (VOD on YouTube) and followed with CF#9 to lock in what units should actually plan around.

Khe Sanh and ANZAC

The content headline has been on the roadmap since August: Khe Sanh is the first new battlefield since launch. Official posts describe a “very different and dramatic look and feel” versus the launch map set. In CF#9 the studio adds that Khe Sanh will feature weather, and that later maps will lean into more varied terrain, including tighter urban-style fights into 2027.

Riding with the map is a faction reshape. Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) join the fight, and the US side expands to United States & Allies (US & Allies). The barracks will hold both US and ANZAC weapons and cosmetics in one space, with some equip restrictions. The roadmap weapons that come with that pack are the L1A1 SLR, the F1 SMG, and the L16A1 mortar. Patch 1.7’s live notes already pointed at Khe Sanh plus ANZAC as the 2.0 package; CF#9 and the AMA keep treating that as the November content target, not a maybe.

Party Chat, bunkers, and the small stuff units actually use

The social feature units have been yelling for is finally on the near calendar. Party Chat (the “white chat” console players know from WWII Hell Let Loose) is actively in development and targeted for Update 2.0, subject to completion. Dev director Rushy told the AMA you’d join a social party in the front end and keep talking across Units on the same team once you’re in a match. That is the difference between “we queued together” and “our SL and armor crew can still talk when they split roles.”

Engineers get another concrete win: a new bunker type in 2.0. The AMA said the existing bunker is getting rebranded as an MG nest, with the new large bunker filling the real fortification ask. Barbed-wire limits already went up in 1.7; this is the next defensive layer.

A few quality-of-life lines from CF#9 that matter if you run console squads or hop servers:

  • Controller tactical-map markers move to D-pad only, so the stick isn’t locked while you place a mark
  • Server Favourites climb to 50
  • A significantly expanded set of unlockable cosmetics, with free unlocks tied into progression
  • More weapons, vehicles, and faction kit promised as part of the 2.0 arsenal expand — with further reveals still coming

Clan tags stay later. The plan is to ship them with Battalions, currently aimed at Update 3.0, rather than bolt on a throwaway tag system first.

What the AMA clarified (and what it didn’t)

On the stream, the team pushed back on the “PC Steam charts = dead game” take: console (PlayStation and Xbox) is a larger share of the audience than Steam alone, and crossplay stays optional per server. They also restated the authenticity line that shows up in CF#9 — Hell Let Loose: Vietnam covers the wider war, not a single year or battle, which is how things like the Thompson and the 30-round M16A1 mag stay in the pool even when they weren’t everyday kit everywhere.

What they still won’t give you is a calendar day. November is the window. Party Chat is “subject to completion.” Commendations are called out for 2027, not 2.0. If your unit is building a Khe Sanh night or an ANZAC loadout brief, plan around the announced map and faction content, but don’t rely on Party Chat until its inclusion is confirmed.
